NJAO Mission Statement
The New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology mission is to advocate the uniqueness of the profession of ophthalmology by educating both its members and the public in order to enable ophthalmologists to provide the highest quality of service to the public.
A New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology objective is to identify and promote ophthalmologists as the medical member of the eye care team and the only member of the eye care team who is an Eye MD.

NJAO Bylaws Purposes
The purposes for which the Academy is organized are:

  • To promote the ophthalmologic welfare of the public
  • To promote the scientific progress of ophthalmology
  • To promote the skills and education of its members
  • To conduct any or all lawful affairs for which corporations may be organized under the New Jersey Nonprofit Corporations Act which are not otherwise inconsistent with these By-laws.
